The UN held the event to recognize Linkin Park’s, and not only, involvemnet in its causes. Currently taking place in New York. Read more about the dinner below and also check a picture from the Red Carpet I found.
–UPDATE 2–
Added 9 more pictures all HQ.
For 53 years, the United Nations Association of the USA (UNA-USA) annual awards dinner has brought together policymakers, diplomats, UN supporters, business leaders, and celebrities. The event calls attention to the vital role the UN plays in helping the global community advance peace, prosperity and justice, as well as recognizes individuals and corporations for their outstanding leadership in advancing UN causes—from global health and economic development, to education and environmental sustainability. In 1998, Ted Turner was honored and, during his acceptance speech, announced his historic $1 billion pledge to the UN, resulting in the United Nations Foundation; UNA-USA is a program of the UN Foundation. This will be the second year the dinner will be hosted by both UNA-USA and the Foundation.

Yesterday Chester and Joe visited the team’s garage in Singapore where they perform at the F1 gig today. I have added 23 pictures of them visiting the garage… Imma add more later. See what Chester has to say about it.
“We’re so thrilled to be performing for F1 fans in Singapore. We had an amazing tour of the Lotus Renault GP garage and we wish Bruno, Vitaly and the entire team a successful weekend”, said Chester Bennington, the band’s lead singer.
Seems like Chester has broken his left arm… We have no information on how it happened, I hope he’s alright. :/
Joe recently posted a blog which explains how Linkin Park would like you to get involved with ‘A Thousand Horizons’.
We want to include fans from all over the world in our special “A Thousand Horizons” event in Tokyo, which will be streamed live across the globe. Please take a few minutes to go here and submit a video of you singing “Iridescent.” Just make sure you are in front of a plain background when recording (no pictures, posters, etc.), and don’t include other property images such as other brands, characters or other items.
We’re looking forward to seeing your submissions and bringing all of your “A Thousand Faces” with us to Tokyo.
-Joe
As well as the videos, you can also submit pictures that you think would cheer up the victims of the earthquake. These can be both photographs and illustrations.
The deadline to submit your videos and pictures is on Saturday 3rd September at 6:00am.
LinkinPark.com looks totally different today. A video of a glitching picture saying “A Thousand Horizons” and the LP logo sparked interest amongst fans. The first brow raiser was Joe Hahn’s tweet saying:
A Thousand Horizons. Coming soon to a Tokyo near you.
…and now this change on LP.com. Nobody knows yet for sure what this is gonna be even though the top speculations are that it’s gonna be a DVD of their show in Tokyo or a sequel to Reanimation.
UPDATE: It has been revealed that ‘A Thousand Horizons’ is a unique art show that will honor the victims of the March 11th Earthquake and Tsunami disaster. The event will take place on September 9th in Tokyo and will be held at Tokyo’s NicoFarre event space. It will also be broadcast over the internet via NicoNico Douga. LPU members have been exclusively invited to the event as it kicks off the Summit in Tokyo. A short film featuring remixes by Joe Hahn will be shown, as well as other events. Fans have also been asked to send pictures and videos that will be included in the show. Proceeds will be donated to Music For Relief.
Here is a video briefly explaining the event:

A couple of things here, first, LA Asian Pacific Film Festival has some pictures up from day 3 of their event and as we know from his Twitter he attended the event that day. They have a pic of him up, check it out. (His beard has grown out a lot o_o)
Second, Mike and Rob attended the PTTOW Summit yesterday as guests in a celebrity panel to discuss youth, media, e.t.c. You can find out more on the topic of the discussion on Mike’s blog.
Rob Bourdon and I spoke at a conference called PTTOW (Plan To Take On The World) today. It is a conference aimed at “discussing youth media, marketing and culture across every major industry category.” The crowd was mostly a split between bright and influential marketing executives and remarkable young guests from various schools, involved in various philanthropic and leadership efforts.
I have a couple of pics up from the Summit, the one Mike tweeted and another one, check them out here.
There’s also a video up from it, featuring both Mike and Rob, Will.i.am from the Black Eyed Peas, Kelly Slater and representatives from huge companies such as Twitter, Facebook…
UPDATE: I added 9 more pictures from Mike and Rob’s appearance at the PTTOW Summit.
